May was National Water Safety Month!
As we welcome warmer weather and families begin spending more time near pools, lakes, and beaches, it's important to remember that May was National Water Safety Month—a time to raise awareness about the importance of safe water practices. Every year, many drownings happen, but most are preventable with simple safety steps. Here are some important reminders:
-
Always supervise children around water, no matter their swimming ability.
-
Learn CPR—it can save lives in an emergency.
-
Use life jackets when boating or swimming in open water.
-
Swim with a buddy, don't swim alone.
-
Enroll in swim lessons—it's a valuable skill for all ages.
Let's keep our community safe and enjoy the water responsibly this season!
