 Reel Reality Red Carpet Award Ceremony
 In partnership with the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health and Public Health, I had the honor of celebrating the incredible creativity and talent of our local high school students here in the Second District. This past week, we proudly hosted the Red Carpet Event for our inaugural Reel Reality Fentanyl Awareness Video Competition. It was a powerful evening dedicated to showcasing student-made short films that raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl and the importance of prevention.
We received 25 impressive submissions from students across the Second District. Each film was deeply moving, delivering powerful messages about the devastating impact fentanyl is having on our communities. These young voices, through their art, are inspiring change and reminding us of the power youth hold to spark awareness and drive meaningful action.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, Fontana Unified School District, and Upland Unified School District for their enthusiastic participation. With the help of our generous sponsors and partners, we were proud to award a total of $22,500 in prizes to our winners and participants.

Each winning club or school received $2,500, while every participating group was awarded $500 to support their continued work. The Spirit Award recipient received a $2,000 prize for demonstrating outstanding school spirit during the red carpet event.
Special thanks to the Departments of Behavioral Health and Public Health for their collaboration. Their efforts ensured that our students received not only a platform for creative expression but also valuable education on fentanyl prevention and how to administer Narcan.
Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make this campaign a success. Together, we are empowering our youth and saving lives through awareness, creativity, and community action.
Make-A-Wish Check Presentation
 As your County Supervisor, in honor of World Wish Day (April 29) I am proud to share a powerful milestone in our commitment to serving those who need us most. This week, I announced a partnership with one of the most respected and impactful nonprofits in the world, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
For 44 years, Make-A-Wish has brought hope and joy to children battling critical illnesses, granting over 615,000 life-changing wishes in 50 countries across six continents. Their missions is simple but inspirational: to give children strength through hope.
To support their incredible work, I am committing $120,000 to help bring more wishes to children and families, right here in our region and beyond. There is no greater measure of a community than how we care for our most vulnerable. Together, through partnerships like this, we are building a stronger, more compassionate San Bernardino County.

 10th Annual Crime Victims' Rights Week Memorial Event
 Supervisor Armendarez had the honor of attending and speaking at the 10th annual Crime Victims’ Rights Week Memorial Event, hosted by San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson. The event, held at the Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga, was a powerful and moving commemoration of those affected by crime.
Survivors shared their personal stories, shedding light on their journeys of grief and trauma. The event also featured resource tables offering valuable support and information for those impacted by crime.
National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, observed from April 6-12, 2025, reminding us of the importance of victims’ rights and the need for continued advocacy and support. Thank you to District Attorney Jason Anderson and all those involved for organizing such an impactful event.
Shine a Light Awards Ceremony
 The Shine a Light on Child Abuse Prevention Awards Ceremony is a special occasion to honor the tireless efforts of individuals and organizations dedicated to preventing child abuse and ensuring the safety of our children and families. This event highlights the importance of community collaboration in creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child in our county.
FUSD New Fontana Secondary Academy Topping off Ceremony
 Fontana Unified School District recently celebrated a major milestone with the topping off of their New Secondary Academy in North Fontana. This exciting development marks an important step in expanding educational opportunities for students in the area. It reflects the districts ongoing commitment to enhancing education and supporting the local community.
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Tour
 I recently had the privilege of visiting Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where I was joined by several colleagues for a tour of this essential healthcare facility. During our visit, I was truly impressed by the ongoing efforts to provide top-notch care to our community, showcasing both innovation and compassion at every turn.
It was enlightening to see firsthand the dedication to improving health outcomes through various programs and services. I am grateful for the opportunity to deepen my understanding of the critical work taking place and look forward to working together to enhance the well-being of our residents.
The commitment to quality care at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is inspiring, and I am excited for our continued partnership in supporting the health of our community.
Rancho Cucamonga State of the City
 Rancho Cucamonga's recent State of the City event provided valuable insight into the city's ongoing and upcoming projects, as well as updates on its economic and educational development. City leaders shared progress on various city developments, as well as efforts to attract new businesses and create more opportunities for residents. The event also celebrated the city's recent accomplishments, with several awards received over the past year recognizing excellence in areas like sustainability, public safety, and community engagement. Rancho Cucamonga continues to thrive and looks forward to a bright future for its residents.
 The Black Chamber of Commerce Legacy Ball
 I had the honor of speaking at the Black Chamber of Commerce Legacy Ball, a truly inspiring event that celebrated the resilience and achievements of Black entrepreneurs throughout our region.
It's organizations like the Black Chamber of Commerce that are helping to drive this progress, providing the support, networking, and resources that businesses need to thrive. I am proud to stand alongside, as they continue to create a more equitable and prosperous future for our community.

Ronald McDonald House Walk for Kids
 Our office had the honor of attending the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House Walk for Kids, the House's biggest event of the year. The event united the community for a meaningful cause, bringing together families, supporters, and volunteers in a celebration of hope and togetherness. It was a family-friendly 5K walk that highlighted our shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and families. The morning was filled with energy and excitement, featuring special guest characters, fun activities, and a variety of resource booths. The incredible turnout and overwhelming community spirit were truly inspiring to see.
Guardian Jet Center 30 Year Celebration
 We proudly celebrated the Guardian Jet Center's 30th anniversary, honoring the Previti Family for their outstanding contributions to the aviation industry and the community. Their leadership has helped bring local control to the Ontario International Airport Authority and continues to inspire future generations. Congratulations to the Previti Family on this remarkable milestone!
IE Regional Chamber of Commerce New Member Mixer
 I had the honor of attending the IE Regional Chamber of Commerce New Member Mixer, hosted at the Fontana Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. It was a fantastic evening of networking, community building, and welcoming new faces. Thank you to our hosts for their continued support of the local business community.
Easter Eggs-Travaganza Events
 Our office was excited to take part in the Easter Eggs-Travaganza events, hosted by the City of Fontana at the Jessie Turner Center, Don Day Neighborhood Center, and the Cypress Center. These festive gatherings brought the community together to celebrate the season in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Families had the chance to connect with local resources, pick up goodies, and enjoy a variety of exciting activities for the kids—all in a safe and welcoming environment. Events like these highlight the importance of community engagement and offer meaningful opportunities for families to spend quality time together while accessing helpful information and support.
City of Upland Spring Egg Scramble
 Our office had the pleasure of participating in the Upland Spring Egg Scramble, a community Easter event hosted by the City of Upland. This family-friendly gathering brought together people of all ages for a fun-filled day of activities. In partnership with the Empire Strykers, the event also featured a variety of interactive experiences designed to engage and entertain children and families. It was heartwarming to see so many members of the community come together to celebrate this joyful occasion, and we are grateful to have been part of such a successful and vibrant event.
California Highway Patrol & Commission Church Easter Egg Hunt
 The California Highway Patrol partnered with Commission Church (formerly Cucamonga Christian Fellowship) to host a wonderful, free Easter Egg Hunt for the children and families of our community. The event was filled with excitement and joy, featuring a variety of booths, valuable resources, and fun activities for all ages. Children had the chance to enjoy Easter egg hunts, explore a petting zoo, and meet a very special guest —the Easter Bunny.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day
 The YMCA Healthy Kids Day is a nationwide initiative focused on promoting mental and physical well-being, safety, and overall health. This exciting community event encourages children and families to get active while learning how to build healthy habits for a lifetime. It's a great opportunity to inspire everyone to prioritize wellness and take steps toward a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Fontana Elks Lodge, Installation Ceremony
 The Fontana Elks Lodge recently held its Installation of Officers Ceremony, swearing in a new board of dedicated members. The Elks continue to make a positive impact in our community through programs that support children's health, promote a drug-free lifestyle, assist today's veterans, and enhance the overall quality of life for all. We look forward to the continued work of the Elks in making Fontana a better place for everyone.

 I had the incredible honor of speaking to the 2025 graduation class of the Asociación de Emprendedoras, an inspiring organization dedicated to empowering the Hispanic community with the resources and skills necessary for success as small business owners. Their impact has been truly transformative, recently earning recognition from the California Association of Counties for their vital role in fostering local economic growth. I'm proud to support organizations like this that uplift our community and help create a brighter future for us all!
Reimagine IEHP and Molina Healthcare Event
 The Reimagine Event, hosted by IEHP and Molina Healthcare, recognized 16 outstanding organizations that have dedicated over three years to providing vital behavioral and mental health programs for youth. These organizations have made a lasting impact by offering support and resources to help young people navigate mental health challenges. This event honors their unwavering commitment to improving the well-being of youth and highlights the importance of continued support in this critical area.
Rancho Cucamonga Rotary Track Meet
 The Rancho Cucamonga Rotary and Co-Host Alta Loma High School proudly hosted their Youth Track Meet for 4th to 6th grade students across all Rancho Cucamonga schools. The event was a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talents, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students were awarded medals for their outstanding performances, celebrating their hard work and dedication. Thank you to the Rancho Cucamonga Rotary and Alta Loma High School, for organizing such a wonderful event that highlights the importance of physical activity and student involvement in our community.

 I had the privilege of attending and speaking at the Fontana Rotary Club meeting, where I shared some of the exciting highlights happening in Fontana. It was a great opportunity to connect with Rotary members and discuss the work I'm doing, as well as the ongoing efforts to improve our community. I look forward to continuing our collaboration and working together to make Fontana an even better place for all our residents!
Rancho Cucamonga Community Arts Festival
 The City of Rancho Cucamonga recently held its 4th Annual Community Arts Festival at Central Park, a day filled with creativity, performances, and hands-on activities. This event celebrated local talent, offering a vibrant display of interactive art and a strong sense of community spirit. It provided an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their work while the community came together to support and enjoy the arts.
Special Needs Resource Fair and Family Fun Day
 The Special Needs Resource Fair was a wonderful event for families of children with special needs, offering a day filled with resources, giveaways, games, entertainment, and plenty of fun. Held at the Fontana Police Department parking lot, this event provided families with valuable tools and information to support their children and make lasting connections within the community.
Veterans Resource Fair
 Assemblymember Robert Garcia, in partnership with Congressman Pete Aguilar, Senator Eloise Gomez Reyes, and Congresswoman Norma Torres, hosted a successful Veterans Resource Fair that brought together a wealth of local, state, and federal agencies. This event offered veterans and their families the opportunity to learn about the outstanding programs and resources available in our community.
These dedicated leaders played an essential role in ensuring the events success, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting our veterans and their families by facilitating access to valuable services and resources.
