Here's a quick roundup from today's San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting:
Fourth District Highlights:
Item No. 3 - The Board appointed John Chapman to Seat 4 on the Behavioral Health Committee for a 2-year term.
Item No. 50 - The Board approved an agreement with Jones Lang LaSalle Brokerage, Inc. to keep helping the County negotiate and secure possible ground leases on about 307 acres of land at Chino Airport.
Countywide Highlights:
Item No. 2 - The Board of Supervisors honored the dedicated service of seven esteemed county employees by adopting resolutions recognizing their retirements:
-
Maria Jose Alba - 26 years of service
-
Kathleen Huaman - 35 years of service
The board also adopted the following proclamations:
-
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day - Every 4th Saturday of April
-
Innovation Month - Month of April
Item No. 14 - The Board approved a non-financial agreement with Loma Linda University to provide internship opportunities for Nurse Practitioner and Nursing students. Through this program, interns will gain hands-on experience by working with behavioral health patients. They will assist with exams, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments. Interns may also offer advice and support to patients or their legal guardians. All work will follow the Department of Behavioral Health’s procedures and will be supervised by an experienced Nurse Practitioner at outpatient clinics. This program helps students build the skills they need to become fully qualified professionals.
Item No. 62- The Board of Supervisors approved a resolution authorizing the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) to secure $6.5 million in funding from the 2021 Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) Grant Program for the Bloomington Sewer Expansion Project.
The Board of Supervisors meetings are open for public participation. Public access to the San Bernardino County Government Center is through the west doors, facing Arrowhead Avenue. All members of the public entering the building are required to go through a security scan and then sent directly to the chambers.
