For Americans, the right to vote is the result of many hard fought victories championed by brave individuals of our past. Yet, these days so few of us exercise this right.
Voting is the extension of your voice. It enables you to speak out - to determine who will represent you as your elected officials and work to protect and preserve your best interests, as well as the best interests of your children. Your informed vote empowers you to elect public servants who share your hopes and dreams and ensure that your tax dollars are used to produce measured results.

The fact is, more of us need to exercise this right. San Bernardino County's voter registration rate is among the lowest in the state; and the outcomes of many of our federal, state and local elections are determined by very small percentages of our County's eligible voters.
It is true – as stated in this issue’s article “Yes! Your Vote Matters” – every vote counts. I encourage everyone to learn about the candidates campaigning to represent your community and determine if their values and priorities align with yours. Then exercise your right. It's time for you to be heard!
