Montclair Fire Department was presented with a $1.2 million check at the February 18, 2025, City Council Meeting. This funding will help the city purchase a much-needed aerial ladder truck, strengthening our fire department’s ability to serve and protect the community.
Public safety is always a top priority, and this investment ensures that our firefighters have the tools they need to protect our community. I'm proud to support Montclair and its residents with this vital resource. As Montclair and the surrounding communities continue to grow, so does the need for advanced firefighting equipment. This new front-line fire suppression vehicle will be a game-changer in protecting residents and businesses alike.
Designed for rapid response, rescue operations, and fire suppression, the truck will be operated by a dedicated crew of three firefighters. Its aerial capabilities will allow first responders to access multi-story buildings quickly, ventilate structures to clear dangerous smoke, and perform critical rescues in high-risk situations.
With this addition, Montclair Fire is better equipped than ever to respond to emergencies—ensuring the safety and security of the city for years to come.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, I had the pleasure of speaking with the Rancho Del Chino Rotary Club, to share exciting updates from both the Fourth District and the County as a whole. It’s always a privilege to engage with community leaders.
I was pleased to share updates about Prado Regional Park— one of our region’s most treasured outdoor spaces. I provided details on the progress of the new gatehouse, the upcoming boat dock, and the much-anticipated snack bar renovation. Sports enthusiasts will be thrilled to experience the upgraded courts, while campers can look forward to modernized restrooms at both the tent campground and the RV campground. With estimated completion dates just a few months away, these enhancements will soon be enjoyed by families, adventurers, and visitors alike.
The conversation then turned to another major success for our region—Ontario International Airport. I shared that ONT ended 2024 on a high note, welcoming over 7 million air travelers, including 6.6 million domestic passengers and 438,000 international travelers. The airport’s air cargo operations continue to soar, securing its place among the top 10 cargo hubs in the U.S. This growth is a testament to ONT’s strategic importance and the increasing demand for travel and trade in the Inland Empire. I also highlighted the many new flights being added by different airlines, making travel more accessible for our residents and businesses.
The future is bright for the Fourth District, and I look forward to seeing these projects come to life for the benefit of all who call this region home.
On February 10, 2025, I led my final meeting as Chair of the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) Governing Board, reflecting on a year of milestones, challenges, and groundbreaking achievements. It was a bittersweet moment—closing this chapter of leadership while knowing our work to strengthen healthcare access in the Inland Empire would continue.
With the Chair position now rotating to Riverside County, IEHP remains steadfast in its mission to serve over 1.5 million members with a vast network of 8,000+ providers. Although I passed the gavel, my colleagues my colleagues selected me to continue to serve in leadership as Vice-Chair—a role I am honored to take on.
This year, IEHP made history by joining Covered California, becoming only the second public managed care plan to do so. This monumental step ensures that even more residents have access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. Our dedication to excellence was recognized on a national scale, with IEHP earning prestigious honors:
- Named one of the 100 Companies that Care by People Magazine
- Recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Women by Fortune & Great Place to Work
- Achieved a 100th percentile national ranking for provider satisfaction
Beyond accolades, we tackled one of the region’s most pressing challenges—the provider shortage. IEHP invested over $40 million in scholarships for nearly 240 medical students, ensuring the next generation of healthcare professionals is equipped to serve our communities. This investment isn’t just about education; it’s about securing a healthier future for the Inland Empire.
As I closed out my tenure as Chair, I felt immense gratitude for the dedicated team at IEHP. Their unwavering commitment to innovation and compassionate care has transformed countless lives. Though my role has shifted, my passion for healthcare excellence remains. I look forward to continuing this journey, advocating for bold solutions that uplift our communities and redefine healthcare in the region.

Strongly supported by San Bernardino County and Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman, the bill would unlock long-restricted Proposition 70 funds for park, cultural, and open space improvements, including much-needed upgrades to Prado Regional Park.
“This bill will bring critical enhancements to our parks, recreational facilities, and cultural spaces within the Chino Agricultural Preserve, enriching the quality of life for residents and strengthening community connections,” said Supervisor Hagman. “These improvements will also boost local tourism and economic growth, and we appreciate Senator Rubio’s leadership in advancing this important initiative for San Bernardino County.”
