Hagman Wraps Up Term as IEHP Chair, Pledges Continued Support for Quality Healthcare
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Supervisor Curt Hagman completed his last meeting as Chair of the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) Governing Board today. The position of Chair now rotates to Riverside County, as IEHP covers both counties. Supervisor Hagman's colleagues selected him to serve in leadership as Vice-Chair.
With over 1.5 million members and over 8,000 providers, IEHP is the largest not-for-profit Medicare/Medicaid public health plan in the country. In 2024, IEHP also entered Covered California, becoming only the 2nd public managed care plan to do so.
Over the past year the IEHP team continued to excel, being named to the 100 Companies that Care list by People Magazine, Best Workplaces for Women by Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine and receiving a 100th percentile national ranking for provider satisfaction.
To address the Inland Empire's challenge of having one of the lowest provider-to-patient ratios in the state, IEHP has invested over $40 million over the past five years to provide full-ride scholarships to nearly 240 students pursuing careers in medical school or studying to become physician assistants in psychiatry. In exchange for this support, these students commit to serving in the region for 3 to 5 years after graduation.
“It has been an honor to work with the entire IEHP team”, said Supervisor Hagman. “IEHP staff consistently present innovative ideas to enhance efficiency while maintaining exceptional customer service to our customers. They diligently monitor performance data and use these insights to set targets that aim to improve the health of our community. I am eager to continue my work on the Board, championing innovation and excellence in healthcare across the Inland Empire.”
Supervisor Curt Hagman has served on the IEHP Governing Board since January 2015, serving as Chair from 2018-2020 and again in 2024.
Supervisor Hagman has served as the Fourth District Supervisor since 2014, representing Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario, and Upland (generally below 14th St.). Hagman holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from UCLA. He, his wife Rossana, and his family currently live in the Chino Valley. He is also proud to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the California State Guard.
