Fourth District Highlights:
Item No. 4 - The Board approved the appointments of Babak Farzaneh to Seat 7 on the Workforce Development Board for a 2-year term and George R. Payton to Seat 5 on the Fish and Game Commission for a 4-year term.
Item No. 31 - The Board approved a $250,000 funding contribution to the City of Chino Hills for two improvement projects at Chino Hills Community Park. As a vital sports facility serving the region, the park hosts thousands of visitors annually for baseball, softball, and soccer activities. The funding will support the expansion of the parking lot to meet high visitor demand and the addition of a V-ditch drainage system to enhance water management and protect the park’s infrastructure.
Countywide Highlights:
Item No. 2 -The Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to re-elect Supervisor Dawn Rowe as Chair and selected Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. to serve as Vice-Chair through 2026.
Item No. 3 -The Board adopted three (3) resolutions honoring Assessor Chris Wilhite for 24 years of service, Dean McVay for 20 years with the San Bernardino Symphony Association Board, and Nakila Hill for over 22 years of dedicated service upon her retirement.
Item No. 77 - The Board took public comment and received an update on progress towards completing the 2020-25 Five Year Consolidated Plan Goals, emphasizing housing, infrastructure, and public services for low- and moderate-income residents. In 2023-24, the County allocated $5.2 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for public facility improvements, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades, special population programs, and safety projects. Additionally, $1.5 million in HOME funds supported affordable housing developments, and $374,751 in ESG funds addressed homelessness.
 The Board of Supervisors meetings are open for public participation. Public access to the San Bernardino County Government Center is through the west doors, facing Arrowhead Avenue. All members of the public entering the building are required to go through a security scan and then sent directly to the chambers.
