The Center operates the Cooper Regional History Museum and is committed to preserving local history, including that of the indigenous Gabrieleno Tongva Indian Tribe. The museum provides free admission and educational tours for schools. The Renovation Project will replace the patio flooring, remodel the outdoor kitchen with new appliances, pressure wash the building exterior, and install new security lighting to enhance the facility for visitors.

Countywide Highlights:
Item No. 2 - Adopted a resolution recognizing Karen Bilderain upon her retirement after 38 years of valuable service to San Bernardino County.
Item No. 27 - Amended Resolution No. 2023-216 to extend the deferment of implementing Senate Bill 43, which expands the definition of "gravely disabled." Rooted in the Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act, SB 43 was signed into law on October 10, 2023, introducing significant changes to involuntary detention and conservatorship requirements. These changes include broadening the "gravely disabled" criteria to encompass individuals with standalone severe substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health disorders. To meet these requirements, counties must establish new policies, procedures, workforce, and treatment infrastructure. This amendment postpones the implementation date from January 1, 2025, to April 1, 2025, allowing the County additional time to plan and build necessary infrastructure, train staff, and coordinate with impacted agencies to ensure proper implementation of SB 43.
Item No. 51 - Approved an agreement with Wordly Inc. to provide real-time AI translation and closed captioning services during Board meetings, making them more accessible to everyone.
The Board of Supervisors meetings are open for public participation. Public access to the San Bernardino County Government Center is through the west doors, facing Arrowhead Avenue. All members of the public entering the building are required to go through a security scan and then sent directly to the chambers.
