 Second District Turkey Giveaway
On November 23, we hosted a special turkey drive that provided 300 turkeys to local nonprofits and churches for underserved families in the Second District.
Thanks to the efforts of our dedicated team and the incredible partnerships with local organizations, we ensured that hundreds of families can gather for a warm, festive meal this Thanksgiving. These organizations identified families in need, received vouchers, and picked up their turkeys in time for the holiday.
This turkey giveaway was a way we can come together to give back and ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy Thanksgiving with their loved ones. Events like this are a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together to address food insecurity and support those in need.
This was the first Turkey Giveaway that my office has hosted and I truly want to give a special shout out to County Human Services, Community Action Partnership, and all the churches and non-profits that participated. We truly made a difference in the way a lot of families celebrated their holidays with loved ones.
