In the heart of Chino Valley, nestled among the rolling hills and open skies, Prado Regional Park serves as a local escape for families and nature lovers alike. The park has long been a place where memories are made—where children play, families picnic, and visitors from all walks of life gather to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors.
Earlier this month, I had the honor of joining our County Parks and Recreation staff, residents, and special guests for a meaningful event. Together, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony, marking the first steps toward a new gatehouse and entry monument. San Bernardino County is dedicating $1,328,895 from the Community Services Reserve Funds, to streamline the park's roadways, reduce congestion, and create a more welcoming experience for visitors.
The park's entrance had been a bottleneck, slowing down traffic and making it difficult for people to enjoy the park to its fullest. These improvements will facilitate smoother, and more efficient access for all visitors. Plans to improve the park have been in the works for months, and the vision is now being implemented by County Parks and Recreation.
“We’re not just improving the infrastructure,” said Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman at the groundbreaking ceremony, “We’re enhancing the experience for everyone who visits. This is about creating a space where our community can come together and enjoy all the beauty Prado Regional Park has to offer.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Prado Regional Park.
