Here is a quick roundup from today's (11/05/24) San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting:
Fourth District Highlights:
20.3 - Approved a contract with the Cardenas Markets Foundation to provide up to $100,000 in scholarship funding for San Bernardino County residents pursuing advanced degrees. This agreement covers the period from November 5, 2024, to November 4, 2025.
Countywide Highlights:
24.1 - Accepted and approved the grant award agreement with the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery for the 2024-25 Local Government Waste Tire Cleanup Grant. This $100,000 grant supports the collection, removal, transportation, recycling, and disposal of waste tires from illegal dump sites across unincorporated areas of the County, covering the period from November 16, 2024, through October 29, 2026.
26 - Accepted a combined grant award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, totaling $33,016,335. This funding supports the continued operation of the Head Start, Early Head Start, and Early Head Start - Child Care Partnership programs from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
33 - Accepted a $25,000 grant award from Petco Love to support pet disaster relief efforts following the Line and Bridge fires. This funding covers the period from November 5, 2024, through November 4, 2025.
 The Board of Supervisors meetings are open for public participation. Public access to the San Bernardino County Government Center is through the west doors, facing Arrowhead Avenue. All members of the public entering the building are required to go through a security scan and then sent directly to the chambers.
