Paws-itive Vibes: Celebrating Community and Canines at Baldy View Dog Park

What an incredible day celebrating the grand reopening of Baldy View Dog Park in Upland! The excitement kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, where I joined City of Upland officials to unveil the park's stunning renovations. The highlight? Seeing happy dogs and their owners enjoying the new space. Also, featured was the unveiling of a plaque conveying the dedication of the park to the community.
The event was nothing short of "paw-some," with live entertainment, food vendors, and, of course, happy pups exploring the expanded dog areas. Thanks to the funds dedicated by Supervisor Armendarez, the City of Upland, and my office, the park now features new fencing, enhanced lighting, shade structures, and walking paths, making it a premier spot for dogs and their owners.
I'm thrilled to share these new improvements and excited for Upland residents to enjoy this fantastic space.
Check out some of the highlights from this fun-filled day with both two-legged and four-legged friends!
On Friday, September 6, we celebrated the long-awaited opening of the State Route 60 / Central Avenue Interchange—a crucial upgrade that will vastly improve traffic flow and serve as a new gateway to the City of Chino! With nearly 60,000 vehicles currently using this interchange every day—and that number expected to soar to 100,000 by 2040—this project marks a significant step forward in enhancing the quality of life for commuters, residents, and businesses alike.
I couldn’t be more excited about the positive impact this improvement will have on our community. It’s thanks to strong partnerships with Congresswoman Norma Torres, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), CalTrans, and the City of Chino that we’ve been able to see this project through to completion. Their dedication continues to drive progress in our community, making life better for everyone.
This kind of thoughtful planning and execution is exactly what we strive for in serving our constituents. I look forward to seeing the continued benefits this project will bring for years to come!

The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS), in partnership with the County Department of Veterans Affairs, is accepting applications for the 16th Annual Operation Recognition Veterans Diploma Project.
