January 2024
Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. Each new year, I like to look back at what has been accomplished and plan for the year ahead. 2023 was incredibly productive and many great things happened that advanced goals for the community in the Fourth District. One of the accomplishments included designating over $1,150,000 in Discretionary Funding and over $8,211,297 in ARPA Funding to support the further development of our Fourth District communities. Achievements also included working with other local elected officials to make improvements. Thanks to a $2.3 million dollar Community Grant secured by Congresswoman Torres for San Bernardino County, the Snack Bar at Prado Park is undergoing renovations. Stay tuned for updates!
These are two examples of many accomplishments that were made in 2023. My team and I look forward to another productive year in 2024!

As part of my desire to support business growth in San Bernardino County, I would like to re-introduce a program that promotes and highlights businesses in the Fourth District! The Fourth District Distinguished Business Award is a program that honors local businesses for their contributions to our economy and our community. Businesses, especially small businesses, are a vital part of our communities, providing innovation, services, revenue, employment, and community participation. There are many exceptional business that serve as the economic backbone of our county, and I want to recognize them.
If you would like to nominate a business that you believe meets the "exceptional business" criteria and it is located within the Fourth District of the County (Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario, and Upland), please click on the button below.
Ontario Airport continues to see growth and success. I'm pleased to report as commissioner of the Ontario International Airport Authority, the number of airline passengers who chose Ontario International Airport (ONT) last year surged to more than 6.4 million, an increase of 12% over 2022 and nearly 850,000 more than pre-pandemic 2019.
Known as the Southern California gateway, Ontario International Airport welcomed more than 6 million domestic passengers and 417,000 international travelers in 2023, increases of 8.4% and 113.5%, respectively. The number of international passengers was an all-time high and broke the previous record of 304,000 in 2019.
Ontario International Airport (ONT) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unveiled the new Global Entry Enrollment Center at Ontario International Airport. The new center is the sixth in California and will offer a convenient, local option for international travelers from the Inland Empire and nearby communities who wish to enroll in the popular program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Up until now, the nearest Global Entry Enrollment Center has been at Los Angeles International Airport.
Global Entry uses specialized processing technology and dedicated lanes to expedite clearance for arriving international travelers who have passed a rigorous background check and in-person interview. To set up an interview at the Global Entry Enrollment Center, travelers must first receive online pre-approval.
