One of my priorities as Fourth District Supervisor is to support local government and businesses throughout the District in their mission to serve our community. Last year, I was eager to allocate funds to support the work of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce and their Upskill Chino Valley Program. Coming out of COVID, our businesses faced unique challenges, and the Upskill Chino Valley Program was designed to address those challenges and create a sustainable program to revitalize our local economy.
Upskill Chino Valley is a four-pronged approach to upskilling our community that facilitates Chamber transitioning to an organization that more dynamically serves the business community and focuses on: Workforce Development, Entrepreneurship Development, Economic Development, and Leadership Development. In addition to the funds allocated by my office, the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce partnered with the County of San Bernardino Workforce Development Department to help utilize federal funds to create workforce development programs for residents and businesses in San Bernardino County. Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce President, Zeb Welborn, to get an update about the program and its impact on our region. Check out our conversation and Zeb's update on how funds were used to support the community.
