Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Sickle Cell Disease Clinic/ARMC
Supervisor Baca Jr. joined Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to celebrate their official ribbon cutting ceremony for their Sickle Cell Disease Clinic in Colton. Over 60% of those who suffer from Sickle Cell Disease who reside within San Bernardino County are children under 21 years of age--with African Americans being the most impacted of our community members. This outpatient clinic treating SCD will provide patients with resources and community support to improve the care, treatment, and quality of life for those living with this disease. The opening of this Sickle Cell Clinic marks a major step towards medical equity in the Inland Empire. |

San Bernardino County Partners with Cities to Increase Housing and Reduce Homelessness
The Board of Supervisors this week launched a partnership with the county’s cities to invest a sizable share of the $72.7 million Homeless Initiatives Spending Plan approved by the Board of Supervisors in March toward increasing housing for the homeless throughout the county. The plan sets aside $32.7 million specifically for partnerships between the county and cities to increase housing and system capacity, specifically by the creation of shelter beds with onsite services open to all homeless.
“Collectively the County Board of Supervisors has taken a major step in addressing some of the challenges of homelessness by making key investments to build treatment facilities that will provide supportive services and resume our street outreach,” said Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “We want to continue collaborating with our community cities and partners to work on this issue for our county residents.”

Take Your Child to Work Day!
April 27th, 2023 was Take Your Child to Work Day. It took place right here in the San Bernardino County Government Center and was a day full of fun times with our children. We are so blessed to see how large our SB County truly is. We look forward to seeing them all again next year!
“We are proud to support the partnership between Rep. Pete Aguilar and Housing Authority of San Bernardino as they address homelessness through the assistance programs that will be available to those in our community, at Arrowhead Grove Community Resource Center. This project will offer a number of necessary supportive services to further push for better quality of life for those needing housing assistance. This initiative is going to change the lives of many in our community and is a step in the right direction to better the homeless crisis in our County.” – Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr.
