As cases drop, the State of California lifted indoor masking requirements on February 16, 2022 for vaccinated people except in specific settings such as health care facilities.
- Only people who are unvaccinated are required to wear masks in all indoor public settings, unless under the age of 2.

Supervisor Baca, Jr. had the opportunity to sit down with Under Sheriff Boatwright in honor of Black History Month. Watch this inspirational video as Under Sheriff Boatwright discusses making history as the first Black undersheriff in the County of San Bernardino.
EPIC is an electronic health record system which stores all protected health information. Epic’s MyChart mobile application is the portal through which patients will view their health information.
- Patients will be able to see their health information all in one place including their medications, test results, appointments, and medical bills even if they’ve been seen at multiple organizations.
- Patients will be able to conveniently schedule appointments, and locate urgent care or emergency rooms quickly
- Patients will be able to complete e-visits where they can message their doctors, get diagnosis and treatment, or arrange in-person follow ups if needed
- Families will be able to stay on top of everyone’s appointments and check in on family members who need extra care
- Patients can request prescription renewals right from the app
- Patients can see their child’s medications, test results, appointments, immunization history, and growth charts all from one place, even if they’ve been seen at multiple organizations.
- Patients speed up their pre-appointment wait times by verifying their insurance, updating their allergies, signing documents, and paying copays.

Baca Beat: Park Updates
- Bloomington Little League Opening Ceremony will take place on Saturday March 5th, 2022, from 10am – 11am. Special guest will include Dodger Alumni's Steve Yeager and Ron Cey. You don't want to miss this!
The park has been CLOSED for operations but is being used by the County of San Bernardino Department of Public Health to administer COVID-19 tests, vaccines, boosters, and flu shots.

Glen Helen Regional Park has two lakes and year-round fishing. The Park stocks trout from November to April and Catfish from May to September. The most recent stock date was February 24, 2022 with a stock of 799 pounds of trout in Large Lake.

 On February 10, 2022, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Metro Valley Study Session approved to recommend that SBCTA Board of Directors authorize release of Request for Proposal for the Design Engineering Evaluation Report/Environmental Document, Plans, Specifications and Estimate, Right-of-Way and Construction Support Services for the improvements on the State Route 210/Waterman Avenue Interchange Project.
- The Project will improve traffic operations and local circulation at the SR 210/Waterman Avenue intersection with East 30th Street and the eastbound SR 210 entrance ramp.
- The eastbound on-ramp will be widened to two lanes and the one southbound and northbound through lane will be converted into left-turn lanes.
- Approval of this agenda item will allow issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) with the goal of awarding a contract for the next Project phases by mid-2022.
- It is estimated that construction will start by Fall of 2023
- This will be a phased Project where the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be providing improvements to the eastbound off-ramp in a separate project
The Fifth District is seeking qualified applicants interested in serving on the Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC). The EOC was established to monitor and review the County’s equal employment opportunity program and advise the Board of Supervisors of progress in the area. The EOC typically meets on the first Thursday of every month, and applicants for our Fifth District seat is much needed, due to a recent vacancy.

Kareem Góngora is a very involved member of our community, he is a family man who dedicates much of his time to help us make our district a better place for all. Kareem serves as a member of the County of San Bernardino Planning Commission, as well as South Coast Air Quality Management District Environmental Justice Advisory Group.
The Planning Commission members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and advise on development and maintenance of the County’s General Plan; consider and recommend amendments to the General Plan and to the Development Code; periodically review the capital improvement program of the county; review and considers matters of countywide planning concern; and interpret the maps of the General Plan. Kareem Góngora was appointed in January 2021.

For homeless/unsheltered assistance please contact United Way 211 by calling “211”. The 2-1-1 Coordinated Entry System (CES) is available in San Bernardino County, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By dialing the 3-digit calling code, 2-1-1, the caller is connected to a live, bilingual homeless assistance call specialist who will help assess the caller’s situation and streamline access to homeless assistance services, screen applicants for eligibility for these and other programs in a consistent and well-coordinated way, and assess needs to determine which interventions are the best fit for each individual and/or family.

On February 24th in the early hours of the morning, the 2022 Point-In-Time Count took place.
Results of the Homeless Count and Subpopulation Survey will provide the County and local cities with benchmark numbers that will serve as the basis for developing local community and countywide strategies to help people exit life on the streets.
This event took place on February 5, 2022 in the City of Rialto. Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. joined Darious Harris, the founder of Never Stop Grinding (NSG) to host this event for those who qualified for Free Dental and Vision Services.
