Calling all Californians: #ShopSafeShopLocal
As we all know, small businesses in San Bernardino County have been hit hard by the pandemic and have struggled to keep their doors open and employees hired.
To help bring patrons back, the state has announced a new campaign -- “Calling All Californians: #ShopSafeShopLocal” – that encourages people to support small businesses in their communities who have made the important modifications to protect public health and desperately need customers back in their stores.
The campaign is a call to action to help our County’s diverse neighborhoods thrive and help small business owners grow their digital footprints. As the core of the campaign is a website that offers small business owners critical tools and online resources, including social media graphics, free consulting and access to personal protective equipment (PPE). These resources will help California’s entrepreneurs adapt to new consumer and market demands and create safer shopping experiences by improving those small businesses’ online presence.
Specifically, business owners can find links at https://business.ca.gov/shopsafeshoplocal to find:
- A free digital media toolkit with graphics and content to be used on a business’ social media pages or website
- Free consulting, in 31 different languages
- Resources and offers to help businesses operate safely and build a digital footprint
- Easy links to find the latest guidelines and county variances for different industry sectors
- Access to PPE through SafelyMakingCA.org, California’s new PPE marketplace
Some of California’s industry leaders have partnered with the state to assist small businesses in this campaign, such as Google, UPS, GoDaddy, Nextdoor, eBay and Yelp, to name a few.
