Seven County Parks Offer 50% Off on Thursdays in August

d

Vision2BActive partnered with San Bernardino County Regional Parks to offer 50% off entry fees to seven County Regional Parks every Thursday in August 2017. The promotion applies to  the following parks: Calico Ghost Town, Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park, Glen Helen Regional Park, Mojave Narrows Regional Park, Mojave River Forks Regional Park, Prado Regional Park and Yucaipa Regional Park.

The Vision2BActive campaign aims to improve health and wellness in San Bernardino County by encouraging residents to increase their physical activity and connecting them to existing recreational programs, amenities and activities in their communities.

Did you know that walking 3,500 steps per day lowers your risk of diabetes? Or that 75 minutes of walking can add two years to your lifespan? Regular physical activity can produce a variety of long-term benefits for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Physical activity can be simple and fun to do.

Do you know someone who started their own walking club in their neighborhood? Do you know a teacher who encourages their students to be healthy by being active, or a business person who incorporates physical fitness into the workday of their employees?  If so, you can nominate them for the San Bernardino County Vision2BActive Campaign as an Action Hero.

Show us what you're doing to be active by sharing photos and videos or by livestreaming your physical activity on social media.  Don't forget to make your post public and use the hashtag #Vision2BActive on Twitter, Faceboook or Instagram!

For more information on the Vision2BActive Campaign or to "Nominate A Hero" please visit Vision2BActive.

2017 National Night Out

f

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-fire-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.  It enhances the relationship between neighbors and First Responders while bringing back a true sense of community under positive circumstances.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. Some neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much more.

Take a look at some of the events in the Fourth District on National Night Out, Tuesday, August 1, 2017:

Lilo and Stitch are 12 week old sister kittens from the same litter. They are playful, affectionate, and absolutely inseparable. Lilo is the calico kitten, and Stitch is mostly black. Both will play with you and lick your hand raw if you let them. Lilo and Stitch have melted every heart they’ve met, and this pair won’t be at the shelter long.
