Salinas Soccer Complex Set to Transform Community Recreation
🎉😊The Salinas Regional Soccer Complex is moving towards an expansion that will provide new opportunities for our youth, families, and entire community. The complex was recognized by our U.S Congress and was awarded funding that allows this community project to flourish. Within this transformation the plans include eight new soccer fields, a 2,000-seat outdoor stadium, a 35,000 square foot indoor area that simultaneously includes classrooms, concessions, and space for events.
At its completion the center is estimating to welcome over 18,000 children along with their families each week. This coincides with creating new vibrant hub for recreation, that supports health and connection. This expansion goes beyond sports; it stands as a steppingstone to give our future community members a positive outlet of youth engagement.🎉😊

Announcements
Parks California is excited to share that the 2026 Santa Cruz Community grant is now open!
Parks California invites community-based organizations to apply for its Santa Cruz Community grant, a program that supports community-led engagement shaping the future of California’s state parks.
Through this program, community, state and tribal organizations can design and lead engagement activities that reflect community priorities, perspectives and lived experiences. The grant helps to center voices that have historically been underrepresented in park planning, better ensuring that state parks and beaches are welcoming and relevant to all who visit.
The City of Salinas will only accept applications for job postings that are currently open. To view a listing of our current employment opportunities and apply for positions, please visit our Government Jobs career page.
Salinas Recreation Superintendent Kristan Lundquist will temporarily take the lead for CASP with support from City Manager Rene Mendez, Admin Aide Brisa Salcedo and new part time Community Outreach Assistant Alyssa Lacalamita.
With sincere gratitude,
