Shining in Our Community
CASP Awards 2025 - Community Alliance for Safety and Peace
This past Wednesday, April 16, we welcomed more than 100 attendees to the CASP Awards 2025, a lively event filled with energy, inspiration, and celebration.
CASP Director Jose Arreola kicked off the morning by sharing the story behind the founding of the Community Alliance for Safety and Peace. His words set the stage for what turned out to be a powerful and uplifting event. Following his remarks, Mayor Donohue officially opened the ceremony with a warm welcome and words of encouragement.
Our keynote speaker, Alvaro Venegas, better known as Coach Al, delivered an inspiring testimonial that reminded us all why the work of every organization represented in the room is both impactful and essential. His message brought laughter, motivation, and a renewed commitment to making Salinas a safer, stronger community.
With spirits high, we moved into the much-anticipated awards portion of the program. Each award recipient was introduced with a brief overview of their contributions, followed by their moment on stage to accept their well-deserved recognition. Recipients shared a few words with the audience, then joined their family and friends for photos and celebration.
To close out the event, Supervisor Luis Alejo offered final remarks, expressing gratitude and encouragement for the work ahead. The celebration wrapped up with attendees networking, connecting, and sharing in the joy of collective achievement.
The CASP Awards 2025 was a huge success! We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and to our generous sponsors. Thank you for all that you do for the youth of Salinas. We look forward to seeing you next year as we continue to honor and celebrate the positive change happening in our community!
