The State of California has been working to develop an inclusive, statewide economic
development strategy. California—AB 2596 has been crafted to create a comprehensive agenda and framework for inclusive statewide and regional economic growth.
The City of Roseville supports the
bill because it would create a statewide economic development plan that will
increase California’s competitiveness and help regions across the state.

Each year, the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce hosts an
annual event to promote business in Roseville. At this year’s event, Roseville 2018, Roseville Mayor Susan
Rohan and City Manager Rob Jensen highlighted
the economic outlook for the City in their keynote
address.
It includes good news along with
several challenges – most notably our city revenues and budget. The City
is at a crossroads, with slowing revenue growth,
rising expenses, and potentially large cuts to city services
looming.

It will soon be easier to
bike and walk throughout Downtown Roseville. Construction on the Downtown
Bridges & Trail Project begins this spring and will continue into 2019.

The new
garage is nearing completion and is anticipated to be open to the public in
late June. Final finishes are being made, including the installation of new
laminated glass in the elevator, concrete coating, and final elevator and
building inspections.
When
completed, the garage will provide entrances accessible from Vernon Street and
Oak Street and exits to Lincoln Street and Oak Street. The garage will provide
429 free parking spaces in a 7 level structure. It will include 9 handicap
accessible spaces, 6 electric vehicle chargers, 32 clean air vehicle/carpool
spaces, 11 motorcycle spaces, 24 bicycle spaces.
Construction is nearing completion on the new Fire Station 1
located at 80 Lincoln Street. When completed, fire response personnel and
equipment will move from the existing station at 401 Oak Street to the new
station. Crews are anticipated to begin working out of the new station
beginning May 29.
Join the excitement at Roseville Jazz Day
Roseville Jazz Day will take place on Vernon Street in Roseville. The headliner will be 10-time Grammy-winning vocal group, The Manhattan Transfer. Also appearing, trumpeter Mike Vax from the Stan Kenton Legacy Orchestra, members of the Count Basie Orchestra, and 22 other regional and local jazz groups, all at seven venues.

According to this Business Journal article, Reel Poké Cove will join the dining court on the Westfield Galleria at Roseville's second level, filling a 793-square-foot space previously occupied by Aria Kabob Cuisine. The locally owned eatery will be the first location for Reel Poké Cove. Tenant Improvements permits are underway.
