FY 16-17 Q1 sales tax revenue up; meets expectations

Sales tax information

City of Roseville sales tax revenue for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2016-17 increased 6.3 percent over the same quarter of Fiscal Year 2015-16. The increase is inline with city economic projections. Sales tax revenue is the single largest revenue source to the city's General Fund, which funds the city's discretionary spending on services like public safety, parks and road maintenance.


Greater Sacramento Placer County Competitiveness Forum set for November 15

The Greater Sacramento Economic Council in partnership with the Roseville, Rocklin, and Lincoln Chambers of Commerce will hold a free Competiveness Forum in Placer County. Christopher Weare, Dir. of Research and Strategy at Greater Sacramento will lead the interactive Competiveness Forum. The goal is for the community to start a discussion on where we can improve throughout our region.

FBI relocates Sacramento office to West Roseville - New facility could grow, spur development

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently opened a field office in northwest Roseville, relocating its operations from Sacramento.

The 119,434-square-foot field office opened Oct. 11, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by FBI Director James B. Comey. In time, there could be more development on the surrounding land.

“We’re going to take our time,” Harsch vice president John Shorey told the Press Tribune. “Since we’re in it for the long term, we want to make sure we make good decisions for everybody.”"

Sutter Roseville opens new $27 million cancer center - Facility touted as most complete, advanced of its kind in the area

The new $27 million Sutter Roseville Cancer Center is the most comprehensive and advanced medical center dedicated to cancer patients in the greater area. It houses all cancer services under one roof, including infusion services, oncology specialists and support services, and an outpatient surgery center.

SKATETOWN ICE RINK

Skatetown Ice Arena is preparing for the opening of their 4th annual Winter Holiday Outdoor Ice Rink.  They have two indoor NHL-sized surfaces that are open year-round. Starting in November, the area outside the rink will be transformed into a charming winter wonderland with twinkling lights professionally choreographed to seasonal music, seasonal decorations and an action-packed 4,500 sq. ft. outdoor ice skating rink.  More than 40,000 visitors are expected to visit the outdoor rink between Nov. 20 and Jan. 16
