Sales Tax Revenue
Roseville ranks 12th out of 480 California cities in gross sales tax revenue. Roseville's sales tax revenue is what would be expected from a city three times larger, outpacing cities like Anaheim, Oakland and Irvine. However with retail occupancy rates at 92 percent, we project the seven percent average increase to sales tax revenue over the last five years to slow.
General Fund Revenue Sources
Roseville's discretionary revenue or General Fund pays for police and fire safety, parks, libraries, street maintenance, economic development, and other resident and business services. Sales tax accounts for 38 percent of this revenue, the single largest revenue source for the General Fund.
