April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the blue pinwheel is its symbol, reminding us of childlike notions and standing for the chance at the healthy, happy and full lives all children deserve. We're happy to stand up for kids!

Oh, how we wish the scammers would go away--but they won't.  Here's our latest 911 Newsletter with information about the most common scams going around.  Read it so you can be on the alert for the scam artists who are constantly hitting on us.  This is a great two-page read to share with your neighborhood watch group.

Fire Department Receives Reaccreditation

We are proud to announce that on March 15th, the Roseville Fire Department officially received reaccreditation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence!

This accreditation process is a comprehensive self-assessment and evaluation model that enables our organization to examine past, current, and future service levels and internal performance and compare them to industry best practices.  Accredited status is earned by an agency that has embraced quality improvement by addressing 253 performance indicators, of which 82 are considered core competencies, covering 10 categories and has been verified and validated by a team of peers. The accreditation is valid for a 5 year period.

Effective immediately, until further notice, the Police Department Records Unit will be closed on all Wednesdays. There will be no front-counter staff to assist individuals in person on Wednesdays. This is a temporary schedule adjustment due to changes and enhancements within Records. If you need assistance at the Police Department when the front counter is closed, use the courtesy phone in the lobby to reach Dispatch.

The new hours of operation for the Police Records Unit are:

Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday:  Closed

Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Free citation corrections (fix-it-ticket sign-offs) are available from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Many residents may not realize that it isn't necessary to come to the police department to file a report, ask a question or discuss a situation with an officer--we make house calls!  Call our dispatch center at (916)774-5000 extension 1 for a non-emergency report or question, or 911 for an emergency, and someone can either call you back or contact you at your location.
