 Dear Third District Resident,
As summer comes to a close, September brings a change of season and the opportunity to look ahead at the months to come. I hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy the longer days, spend time with loved ones, and make the most of all that our communities have to offer throughout the summer.
As we prepare for the upcoming El Niño storm season, I encourage everyone to take a few moments to prepare their homes and families, stay informed, and make sure you have the resources you need if severe weather impacts our communities.
My office will be hosting information sessions throughout the district with our Emergency Management team and other county departments to bring preparedness information directly to our communities. So, please keep an eye out for those dates as they are announced.
Our first session will be next week at the Winchester Homeland MAC meeting on October 8 at 6 p.m. We hope you’ll join us and take this opportunity to prepare before the storms arrive.
September also marks the beginning of a busy fall season across the Third District. With October just around the corner, we look forward to cooler days, community gatherings, and the many events and activities that make this time of year special. I encourage you to stay connected with your community, support our local organizations and businesses, and take part in the opportunities happening across the District.
Thank you for continuing to make the Third District such a strong and welcoming community. I look forward to all that the fall season will bring and to seeing many of you throughout our communities in the months ahead.

Fire Station 103 Grand Opening
This month, we celebrated the grand opening of Washington Fire Station 103 in French Valley, an important step forward in strengthening public safety for our growing community.
The station is now open and operational, providing our residents with access to vital emergency services when they need them most. While the station is currently serving the community, construction of a new, permanent fire station will begin on the site.
I want to thank our Riverside County Fire Department and Facilities Management Department for thinking outside the box and finding a creative way to get this station up and running now, while we work toward building a new permanent facility. Their efforts mean our community can have the protection and emergency response services it needs today, while we continue planning for the future.
Public safety is one of our highest priorities, and the Washington Station represents our continued commitment to keeping French Valley and the entire Third District safe and prepared for the future.
We are grateful to the firefighters and first responders who serve our communities every day. I look forward to seeing this station continue to serve as a symbol of safety, service, and our commitment to the residents of French Valley for generations to come.
