 Dear Third District Resident,
Summer is always a special time across the District. Whether you’re spending time with family, enjoying one of our local parks or lakes, supporting community events, or simply taking advantage of the longer days, I hope you’re finding opportunities to enjoy everything that makes our communities such wonderful places to call home.
As we embrace the season, it’s also a good reminder to take care of ourselves and one another. With warmer temperatures settling in, I hope everyone stays cool, stays hydrated, and enjoys our pools, lakes, and waterways safely so that summer is filled with great memories for everyone.
I’m also looking forward to seeing many of you at our Veterans Expo on July 24 (more details provided in community events below). This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect veterans, their families, and caregivers with valuable resources while recognizing their service and sacrifice to our country.
Thank you for continuing to make the Third District such a vibrant and welcoming place. I look forward to seeing of you out in the community this summer.

Drowning Prevention
One of the best ways we can help keep our children safe is by ensuring they have the skills and confidence to be around water. Through First 5 Riverside County, we are proud to invest in free water safety education and swim lessons for eligible families throughout Riverside County. These programs not only teach children life-saving swimming skills but also provide parents and caregivers with the knowledge they need to help keep their families safe around water.
Families can access one-on-one swim instruction through SoCal Water Babies and Lifesaver Aquatics, as well as group swim lessons offered by the Corona Norco Family YMCA, Desert Recreation District, Jurupa Area Recreation and Park District, the City of Temecula, the City of Palm Springs, the City of Desert Hot Springs, YMCA of the Desert, the City of Banning, Hemet Valley Recreation and Park District, and Premier Aquatic Services in Moreno Valley.
If you have young children, I encourage you to take advantage of these valuable resources and make water safety part of your family’s summer plans.

CHP Carseat Check
Did you know that you can get a free car seat safety check with Temecula CHP?
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians at the Temecula CHP office have appointment times open to help you get your child’s car seat installed correctly and safely.
A CHP officer will
● Walk you through all installation options for a rock-solid fit ● Check for any recalls on your specific seat ● Ensure it’s the right car seat for your child’s age, weight, height, and developmental stage
Proper car seat use reduces the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers (ages 1-4) in passenger vehicles. Yet studies show nearly half of car seats are installed incorrectly – don’t let yours be one of them.
Appointments are free and a quick way to give yourself serious peace of mind. Call or message the Temecula CHP office today to schedule yours at 951-506-2000!
