 Dear Third District Resident,
This month, we pause to reflect on National Suicide Prevention Month, a time that calls for our compassion, support, and awareness of the diverse strengths within our community.
National Suicide Prevention Month reminds us that behind every statistic is a neighbor, friend, or family member who deserves compassion and support. Suicide often happens silently. Addressing mental health starts with awareness and a commitment to making sure help is within reach for everyone.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, Riverside County offers 24/7, free and confidential help through the RUHS Behavioral Health Crisis Support System. Services include mobile crisis response teams, mental health urgent care centers, and community behavioral assessment teams. Call 951-686-HELP (4357) for immediate support. Bilingual counselors are available, and you may remain anonymous. For more information, visit RUHealth.org.
This is also a time to recognize the strength it takes to ask for help and the importance of showing up for those who need support. By fostering empathy, raising awareness, and breaking the stigma around mental health, we can help ensure no one feels alone in their struggles.
Let us use this month to listen, learn, and stand together, supporting one another as we work together to build a stronger, more compassionate community.
Sincere regards,
|
