 Dear Third District Resident,
At the heart of every thriving community are passionate individuals who choose to lead, serve, and inspire. This year, the Third District Youth Advisory Council (YAC), a group of high school-aged youth from across the Third District, has truly exemplified that spirit. United by their commitment to leadership, local government, and community service, these remarkable students have contributed over 750 volunteer hours and participated in 25 local events.
Their dedication is not only impressive, it’s transformative. YAC members have demonstrated the remarkable power of young people to drive meaningful change, shape policy, and strengthen community when they unite with purpose and passion.
Being a part of the Third District is about more than just living here; it is about actively contributing to the growth and strength of our community. The Youth Advisory Council is a prime example of this commitment. It offers students a chance to take on leadership roles, work collaboratively on meaningful projects, and make a real impact on the issues that matter most to our district.
If you know a high school student who lives in the Third District and wants to make a difference, now is the time to get involved. As a member of the Youth Advisory Council, youth will:
- Step into meaningful leadership roles
- Learn how local government works from the inside out
- Work side-by-side with peers and officials on real community projects
- Gain valuable professional experience and civic skills
- Form lasting friendships and a strong network of young leaders
Applications are now open for the upcoming Youth Advisory Council Cohort. Join this powerful movement of student leaders and help shape the future of our district. Your voice, your ideas and your leadership matter.
For more information, please email Youth Advisory Council Coordinator, Ruben Quezada at RuQuezada@Rivco.org.

 Sincere regards,
