Dear Third District Resident,
September is a significant month, a month of remembrance, awareness, and preparedness. This month is marked by the observance of 9/11 Remembrance Day, a time to honor the lives lost and the resilience shown in the face of tragedy. It is also National Preparedness Month, a reminder of the importance of planning and readiness for emergencies. Additionally, September is Suicide Prevention Month, dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and supporting those struggling with suicidal thoughts. Together, these observances emphasize reflection, compassion, and the need for collective preparedness and care.
These observances are not isolated—they are interconnected by the themes of community, care, and action. Whether we are remembering the past, advocating for mental health, or preparing for the future, we are called to come together as a community, to uplift one another, and to prioritize the well-being and safety of those around us.
Let us honor September by embracing its call to remember, to support, and to prepare.
Riverside County has resources available to those who may be in crisis or those have been affected by suicide, to learn more please click here.
Preparedness starts with simple actions, by signing up for Alert Rivco you can stay informed in the event of emergencies. Click here to sign up today.

It was an honor to attend the dedication ceremony for the new Menifee Justice Center last month. As Riverside County continues to experience rapid growth, and with the vast majority of our recent growth being in the City of Menifee, the County remains committed to partnering for success. We extend much gratitude to the Superior Courts of California and the City of Menifee for their invaluable collaboration in addressing this crucial need. Further, we are proud to deliver essential services and provide local employment opportunities for our residents.

Eastern Municipal Water District’s Wine Country Sewer Project
I was pleased to join Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) at the Wine Country Sewer Project public meeting last month. In partnership with EMWD, the Wine Country Sewer Project will consist of two segments – the Northern Wine Country Sewer Alignment and the Southern Wine Country Sewer Alignment.
The Southern Sewer Alignment Project, a nearly $17.5 million investment, will provide safe, reliable sewer service to residents and visitors. Similarly, the Northern Sewer Alignment project is a $13.7 million investment, and will also ensure that residents and visitors have safe, reliable sewer service while providing greater assurance that our groundwater basin is protected. Both in alignment with the goals of the Wine Country Community plan, the Northern and Southern Sewer projects consider the region’s projected growth and are poised to spur economic development. My office is proud to support the Wine Country Sewer Project by providing nearly $10 million in ARPA funds.
As a proud supporter of this crucial initiative, it is exciting to share that construction will begin this Fall, with completion expected by Spring 2026. To learn more about the Wine Country Sewer Project, click here!
