Dear Third District Resident,
It is an honor to share that I have been officially re-elected as your Riverside County Third District Supervisor. Serving you over the last nine years has been one of my most treasured privileges, and I am elated to continue to do so for another four years.
Additionally, I am excited to share that the Third District will be officially expanding as we add new communities to our boundaries. At this week's board meeting, my colleagues and I approved the transition of supervisorial oversight for constituent concerns and administrative processes for the communities of De Luz, La Cresta, Tenaja, and the City of Wildomar. This means that these areas will now be under my stewardship, to provide residents with smooth continuity in representation, until the new boundaries go into effect in January 2025.
As your Supervisor, I will continue to focus on addressing your concerns, keeping our communities safe, and improving your quality of life. My office looks forward to the opportunity of assisting you in navigating through the various programs and services the County has to offer.
Welcome to the Third District De Luz, La Cresta, Tenaja, and the City of Wildomar, we are happy to serve you!
Sincere regards,

Child Abuse Prevention Month
Every April, the Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Foundation works to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect prevention methods through the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign. As one in four children experience abuse or neglect within their lifetime, awareness and education is encouraged as community partners play an important role in keeping our children safe. While there are no substitutes for loving parents or guardians, it is of the utmost importance that we stop child abuse from occurring.
After the Board meeting on April 2nd, my colleagues and I joined for the second annual flag raising ceremony in remembrance of children who have been impacted by violence, abuse, and neglect. The purpose of the ceremony also stood to recognize and raise awareness of the importance of community collaboration in strengthening and empowering families to prevent child abuse.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
Each year, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week serves as a poignant reminder of the impact crime has on individuals, families, and communities across the nation. This year, from April 21st to April 27th, we stand together to recognize and support those who have been affected by crime. As part of our commitment to honoring this cause, we invite you to join us for two special candlelight vigils hosted by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office on April 23rd in Palm Desert and April 24th in Riverside.
The candlelight vigils symbolize our solidarity and support for victims of crime, as well as our dedication to advocating for their rights. These solemn gatherings provide a space for reflection, remembrance, and healing. By coming together as a community, we not only honor the lives lost and the pain endured but also reaffirm our commitment to creating safer, more supportive environments for all.

Water Safety Tips to Consider This Spring and Summer Season
As temperatures begin to rise, here are a few safety tips to keep in mind as you begin to find ways to cool off through different water activities:
1. Never leave a child unattended in or near the water. Always provide adult supervision and when in the water, it’s advised to keep children within touch reach.
2. Stay away from drains and cover them properly. Each pool should have compliant VGBA drain covers for optimal safety.
3. Use protective fencing, covers and alarms around pools to prevent any accidents from occurring.
4. Keep a first aid kit readily available and educate yourself, along with others, on how to perform CPR and other life-saving measures.
For children that don’t know how to swim, Riverside County has survival swim lessons available. In partnership with First 5 Riverside County and SoCal Water Babies swimming lessons are offered in French Valley and through the City of Temecula. For more information, please visit socalwaterbabies.com or call (951) 251-5210.

Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) Plan Survey
In the next six months, the County of Riverside is updating the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) program for the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The goal of Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) is to combat housing discrimination, eliminate racial bias, undo historic patterns of segregation, and lift barriers that restrict access to foster inclusive communities and achieve racial equity, fair housing choice, and opportunity for all Californians.
Implementation of an Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH) plan will greatly enhance equity, human dignity, social welfare, and justice for all protected class groups. Creating equitable access to affordable housing opportunities is crucial to the County’s most vulnerable populations.
Your voice matters! Please click here to complete the survey to help guide County determinations that address priority housing and housing issues.
