RIVERSIDE FIRE DEPT. CERT – 3RD ANNUAL RR EMERGENCY PREP FAIR Thanks & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED NOV 29 FESITVIAL OF LIGHTS

Hello CERT Members,

 

We would like to acknowledge the CERT Volunteers who assisted at this year’s 3rd Annual Ready Riverside Emergency Preparedness Fair on Sat. Sept 28. Thank you to; Janine Almanzor, Tiffany Alvarez, Cheryl Art, Richard Bonilla, Larry Burn, Linda Burn, Carol Crouch, Greg Crouch, Kay Diehl, Sjana Dreyer- Bauer, Richard Egan, Ray Gayton- Jacob, Debbie Gonzalez, Joe Hamlin, Anna Hauldren, Claudia Kwiecen, Emilio Lopez, Margo Miley, Rudy Moreno, Alex Muir, Angelina Robles, Dave Sparks, Kelly Taylor. (see photos attached)

 

Also thanks to CERT Members who staffed booths for other organizations they represent at our Fair; David Bell, American Red Cross - Kristii MacEwen, Habitat for Humanity Riverside - Itiri Rousen, Paul & Mary Van Doren, Community Access Center, - Sharon Gutierrez, Riverside Public Utilities - Marlene Odebralski, Riverside County RACES - Irma Ochoa, Riverside Police Department.

 

CERT Volunteers, helped setup & takedown equipment and staffed the emergency preparedness table distributing free smoke detectors and explaining how to turn off utilities in an emergency. We appreciate the hard work of all the Volunteers (CERT & Explorers) who donated their time to help us be able to better prepare our community to survive and recover from emergencies/ disasters.

 

Thanks CERT for your commitment to emergency preparedness and the City of Riverside.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY – FRI. NOV. 29, 2013.

 

 CERT Volunteers have been requested to assist again this year at the Annual Riverside Festival of Lights – Tree Lighting Ceremony scheduled for Friday, November 29, 2013. We are in need of Volunteers for the following four shifts.

 

Shift 1         9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Shift 2         1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Shift 3         4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Shift 4         7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

 

Please be aware of your limitations YOUR SAFETY IS FIRST/ LAST & ALWAYS! 

YOU WILL BE ON YOUR FEET FOR EXTENDED PERIODS (Please bring a folding chair for breaks)

YOU MAY NEED TO MOVE BARRICADE THROUGHOUT YOUR SHIFT WILL REQUIRE SOME LIFTING.

YOU WILL NEED TO WEAR YOUR CERT VEST & COMFORTABLE CLOSED TOE SHOES

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A FLASHLIGHT AVAILABLE (FOR EVENING SHIFTS)

YOU MAY NEED TO DEAL WITH A VERY LARGE CROWD AND LOUD NOISE

 

TASKS WILL INCLUDE

** TRAFFIC/ CROWD SAFETY

** ASSISTING TO SECURE BLOCKED OFF AREAS
