for August 27 Nights with the Museum Event

Bring your burning questions about the Museum of Riverside's ongoing construction to our experts. Join us Thursday, August 27, for "Past, Present, and Future: Bridging Memory and Modernity at the Museum of Riverside." During this Nights with the Museum event, architects of Perkins Eastman will share their insights, such as:

🏦 Preserving beloved features of the historic building

🔎 Revealing architectural features that were unanticipated

Perkins Eastman's architects have many historic preservation successes to their credit, including the major rehabilitation of the Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles. Their work is laying the foundation for the Museum of Riverside’s future!

"Past, Present, and Future: Bridging Memory and Modernity at the Museum of Riverside" is scheduled for August 27, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at the Riverside Main Library Community Room, 3900 Mission Inn Avenue.

Making a (Paint) Splash

New Orange Street Mural Brings Fresh Color
and Artists to Downtown Riverside September 3

We're bringing local color to downtown. 🎨

Join us Thursday, September 3, for the unveiling of the Orange Street Pedestrian Walkway Mural outside of our construction site. The Museum of Riverside, in partnership with Division 9 Gallery, assembled a group of muralists to create nine distinct panels with their own style and vision. During the unveiling you can:

🧑‍🎨 Talk to the artists about their work and inspiration

🚧 Learn more about the museum's construction progress

🍪 Enjoy light refreshments in a family-friendly space

The muralists include: Cosmé Cordova (Division 9 founder and artistic director), Adam Aguilar (More Leaders), Amparo Chi, ELIDÉ, Man One, Zufos Muchas Salamat, Kelly Zermeño-Diaz, and more.

The mural will be up until the Museum’s construction project is complete. Afterward, the mural panels will be removed and preserved.

The Orange Street Pedestrian Walkway Mural Unveiling is scheduled for September 3, from 6 to 9 p.m., along the westerly side of Orange Street, south of Mission Inn Avenue. The unveiling will coincide with the September 3 Riverside Artswalk. (Artists below (L-R): Kelly Zermeño-Diaz, Cosmé Cordova, and Man One.)
