Lt. Mike Cook Graduates from FBI National Academy

 

Riverside, CA - On Friday, March 16, 2012, Riverside Police Department Lieutenant Michael Cook graduated from the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia. Lieutenant Cook was nominated by Police Chief Sergio Diaz and participated in a competitive selection process for an opportunity to attend the prestigious institution.

Internationally known for its scholastic excellence, the National Academy Program consists of 10 weeks of advanced investigative, leadership, and fitness training for selected officers having proven leadership skills. Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

The 248th Session of the FBI National Academy consisted of law enforcement professionals from 48 states, 28 countries, and three U.S. military organizations. FBI Director Robert Mueller was the principal speaker at the graduation ceremony.

Lt. Cook is currently the Internal Affairs Bureau Commander at the Riverside Police Department. He started with Riverside Police Department as an officer on August 11, 1989, and has been on the management team for 5 years.
