This holiday season, join in on celebrations across Ward 1 and tune in to important topics such as: Riverside's community engagement policy, redistricting, language access updates, and more. Get the scoop on Riverside's newly-hired City Manager and Community & Economic Development Director. Venture into Downtown to visit Downtown's newest Art Gallery, A Blve Rose (pictured right), and enjoy the millions of lights in and around the Mission Inn (they're up until January 6th).

New Staff On the Block 

Mike Futrell, Riverside City Manager

Riverside has officially hired Mike Futrell as our new City Manager. Futrell brings to Riverside extensive executive management experience in local, state, and federal government, as well as in private industry. Futrell begins his role in January. Read more about him here

Jennifer Lilley, Head of Community and Economic Development Department

Jennifer Lilley joins the City of Riverside as the Community & Economic Development Director. She brings to the city more than 30 years of experience in economic development and planning in both the public and private sectors, including nearly eight years as the head of her own firm. Learn more about her here, and tune in her for public introduction at City Council on December 6th at 1 PM.

Miracle on Main 2021

The Miracles & Dreams Foundation is hosting their 10th Annual Miracle on Main St. Aimed at bringing cheer and resources to families in need, this event will host a resource fair, free haircuts, and more.

Non-profit grant opportunity

If you believe your nonprofit organization will be planning an event or project for the July 1 – December 31, 2023, funding period, you may be eligible to apply for a City Sponsorship, and we invite you to join us for a City Sponsorship 101 Training (online) at 10 am on Wednesday, December 14, 2022The deadline for applications is January 31, 2023, and the application and guidelines for eligibility are located here.  Please read those carefully before beginning an application and make a note that this is not a “save changes and return later” application.  You will want to review the application and collect all your information nearby before starting the application. Contact Cynthia Wright to attend the workshop on December 14th.
