On December 15th 2020 the City suspended street sweeping along residential roadways and relaxed the enforcement of various non-safety related parking violations such as: expired registrations, preferential parking zones, and 72-hour parking limits.

The suspension of street sweeping services and other parking enforcement types was intended to provide relief to residents who experienced difficulty complying with everyday parking regulations while adhering to the Regional Stay-At-Home Order.

Over the past month we have continued to enforce safety-related parking violations, including: blocked driveways, parking in fire lanes, and obstructions of traffic.

With the recent lifting of the Regional Stay-At-Home Order, staff will resume street sweeping services on residential roadways and general parking enforcement activities following the below framework:

  • Street Sweeping/parking enforcement to resume on February 1st
  • A 30-Day grace period for street sweeping related violations during which warnings will be issued
  • Other general parking enforcement activities to phase in throughout February, each with a 14-Day grace period
  • Communication to residents through our media page, public works & street sweeping pages, and social media accounts. https://www.riversideca.gov/press/parking-enforcement-reinstatement
  • The 311 Call Center is prepared to advise residents who may call in regarding our street sweeping plans.
