Opportunity With Education (O.W.E.)

Juvenile Intervention and Prevention Program

Riverside, CA.— Opportunity With Education (O.W.E), formerly Project PRIDE, is an intervention program facilitated by the Riverside Police Department in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies and community-based organizations. O.W.E. is a cognitive behavioral intervention and prevention program which takes a holistic approach with the juvenile and his or her family. O.W.E. is a voluntary, non-custody, intensive, 16 consecutive week program for at-risk juveniles.  The parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) MUST fully support the program and the staff for their child to be enrolled.

Opportunity With Education is designed to positively redirect male and female "at-risk" youth between the ages of 10 and 17 through interaction with law enforcement and other positive professionals. O.W.E. stresses choices and consequences, aids in building self-esteem, and breaks the cycle of criminal or negative behavior. O.W.E. is currently accepting applications for the upcoming class. Classes will be held on Saturdays, at the Riverside Community College from 07:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for sixteen consecutive weeks. Classes start in February 2012.

Class size is limited, so apply online now at www.rpdonline.org
