SUBJECT:         Elevators “Out of Service” for work tonight in Terminal 1 and 2

 

DATE:                 March 5, 2012  

                                   

 

Scope of Work:

 

As part of the Terminal 1 Renovation project, Turner Construction, Allied Fire Protection, FDU, Inc, and KONE, Inc. will be performing work in the elevators of Terminal 1 and 2. During the night, each elevator will be placed out of service individually by KONE Elevators. Contractors will be replacing end of line resistor for the fire alarm speakers and installing fire sprinklers in the M103 3-stop elevator. Signage will be posted for the closure of each elevator.

 

Airport Engineering will be onsite to coordinate activities with Landside and Airside Operations and ESEs.

 

 

Construction Duration and Planned Schedule:

 

Date(s):                        Monday, March 5th, 2012 to Tuesday, March 6^th, 2012

Work Day(s):                One (1)

Work hours:                  2100 to 0400 hours

 

Vehicles:

 

Construction vehicles will display the appropriate placards. Vehicles will be parked in Turner’s Construction lay down area between Gates 8 and 8A.

 

Vehicles will at all times comply with Oakland International Airport, Airport Operations Area (AOA) Vehicle Safety Rules 406.2.

 

Personnel Identification:

 

Turner Construction, Allied Fire Protection, Inc., FDU, Inc. and KONE Elevators contractors are properly badged for the work area or will be under escort of badged personnel.

 

 

 

           

Special Instructions and/or restrictions:

 

Work site will be kept clean and free of debris after completion of work.

           Testing of the elevators will commence after the completion of work.
