SUBJECT:      Removal of Asbestos-Containing Material on the Lower

                     Level of M-103 (Terminal 1)

 

DATE:              February 01, 2012

    

 

 

 

A.                 Scope of Work:

 

This project involves removing asbestos-containing material from the insulation of existing water line adjacent to Southwest Airlines break room area in the lower level of M-103.  The scope of work includes: isolating the work area; installing engineering controls (including containment) in each separate work area; removing asbestos containing construction materials; and cleaning the work area.

 

Following the work, a certified abatement consultant (SCA Environmental), will perform a site clearance to ensure it is ready for reoccupancy.

B.                 Construction Duration and Planned Schedule:

 

Duration:                       February 2, 2012

Work Day(s):                One (1)

Work hours:                  0630 to 1600 hours

                              

C.                 Vehicles: 

 

Construction vehicles will display the appropriate placards.  Vehicles will be parked in Turner’s Construction lay down area between Gates 8 and 8A. 

 

Vehicles will at all times comply with Oakland International Airport, Airport Operations Area (AOA) Vehicle Safety Rules 406.2.

 

D.                 Personnel Identification:

 

Turner Construction, SCA Environmental, the consultant, and Sterling Environmental, the asbestos abatement contractor, are properly badged for the work area or will be under escort of badged personnel. 

           

E.                 Special Instructions and/or restrictions:

 

A certified abatement consultant will be present at the work site at all times that work is in progress to ensure the work is in compliance with all local, state, and federal asbestos regulations.

           

Work site will be kept clean and free of debris.
