If You See Something, Say Something

OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
AIRPORT BULLETIN

SUBJECT:  If You See Something, Say Something

DATE:          April 16, 2021

With recent tragic events in the news, many involving mental health issues and some at or near U.S. airports, we wanted to remind all stakeholders of the importance of reporting suspicious activities / individuals at or involving the Airport.  Remember that if you are an Airport badge holder, you are REQUIRED to report suspicious activities / individuals / circumstances.  If you observe or overhear something that doesn’t seem quite right, report it; it will be thoroughly investigated by Aviation Security and/or law enforcement.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) now has access to Alameda County’s new Community Assessment Transport Team (CATT), which pairs a paramedic and a mental health professional to respond to locations in Alameda County, including the Airport, to immediately assist non-violent, cooperate individuals (e.g., passengers, employees, unhoused, etc.) suffering a mental health crisis and transport them to the help needed (e.g., to the psychiatric hospital, a private health provider, other community services, etc.).

Remember:  “If You See Something, Say Something” – your report may save lives!

For urgent matters and to report suspicious activity / individuals, please be reminded of the following phone numbers (24/7):

  • Airport Operations / Airport Duty Manager:  510-563-3361 (# on back of your badge)
  • ACSO Duty Sergeant Cell:  510-225-5846
  • ACSO Dispatch:  510-667-7721
  • FBI San Francisco Field Office:  415-553-7400
