Placer County Public Health Launches Free Sunscreen Dispenser Pilot Program

Placer County Public Health has launched a sunscreen dispenser pilot program to make sun protection more accessible during the summer months. In partnership with the Auburn Recreation District and Auburn State Recreation Area, free sunscreen dispensers are now available at Sierra Pool, Placer Hills Pool, and the Confluence Trail entrance. Interested in a Sun Safety Training?

Outdoor workers are 60% more likely to develop skin cancer due to prolonged UV exposure, but it’s important to remember that skin cancer can affect everyone.

As part of our cancer prevention program, we offer tailored sun safety training presentations that cover skin cancer—including its types, causes, and warning signs—as well as practical strategies for staying protected.
