With cooler weather on the way, it’s important to take a few simple steps to protect yourself and others from getting sick. Here are some helpful reminders for staying well this season:
-
Get Vaccinated: If you haven’t already, schedule your annual flu shot. Talk to your healthcare provider about other vaccines that may be appropriate for you.
-
Practice Good Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When that’s not possible, use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
-
Disinfect Frequently Touched Surfaces: Clean items like doorknobs, light switches, and phones often to help stop the spread of germs.
-
Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Use a tissue or your elbow to cover your mouth and nose, and dispose of tissues immediately.
-
Stay Home if You’re Sick: Rest, stay hydrated, and avoid close contact with others. If you must be around people, consider wearing a mask to prevent spreading illness.
-
Support Your Immune System: Eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, stay active, get enough sleep, and drink plenty of water to help your body stay strong.
Taking a few moments now to build these habits can help keep you and your community healthier all season long.

 IRS/Tax Scams
Scammer calls and says you owe money to the IRS. Scammer tells victim to send money in a specific way (cash, wire transfer, gift cards) unless victim will be in trouble with the government. They don’t let you question or appeal the amount of tax you owe. Scammer may also call and claim the victim will be getting a big refund but is required to pay an upfront fee.
