Get Involved! Apply for Your Local Municipal Advisory Council (MAC)
Community engagement is essential to good governance, and I invite you to help shape the future of Placer County by serving on a Municipal Advisory Council (MAC). We are now accepting applications for the next term of MAC members, and I encourage you to apply!
What is a MAC?
Established in 1978 by the Placer County Board of Supervisors, MACs serve as advisory bodies on land use and planning issues. They provide general review and comment through recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on planning matters. They also serve as a community forum for County and other agency updates. There are 13 MACs countywide, 8 of which are in District 5:
To be eligible, you must be a resident, property owner, or business owner within the boundaries of the MAC you wish to serve. We are looking for diverse and engaged community members who represent a broad range of local interests.
Ideal candidates should be:
Respectful and constructive in discussions
Willing to learn about public meeting laws and procedures
Interested in local planning, land use, and community development
Able to provide feedback from a range of community perspectives
Available to attend scheduled MAC meetings
