Watch (02:30): Supervisor Bonnie Gore Shares Her Vision as
Board Chair for 2025

BG Board Chair Thumb

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

This year, I have the honor of serving as Chair of the Board of Supervisors. I’m excited about it – I feel like it’s a great opportunity to guide the conversations we have about the future of our county. Of course, it’s not just about me; it’s about all of us on the Board working together to tackle what’s ahead.

As a county, we’re experiencing a significant amount of growth. We’re one of the fastest-growing counties in California, and with that comes a lot of new residents and development. One of the biggest challenges we’re facing is making sure we’re keeping up with the needs of everyone who’s moving in. We need to make sure we have the right services in place – parks and recreation, fire and sheriff services, you name it. It’s a huge responsibility, and I feel so strongly about making sure we’re providing the best possible resources for our community.

Affordable housing is another key issue we’re working on. How do we make sure everyone has a place to live, no matter their income? As our county grows, we’ve got to make sure our housing policies grow with it. It’s a tough balancing act, but it’s one I’m committed to.

We also have a new Board member this year, Supervisor Anthony DeMattei from District 3, with a great background in agriculture and business, and I’m looking forward to the fresh perspectives he’ll bring. The team is collaborative, and we all listen to each other, which is so important in making good decisions.

I’m really committed to making sure we listen to our community, too. Even when we don’t always agree, everyone deserves to have their voice heard with respect. If you have concerns or ideas, I always encourage you to reach out. We can only do our best work if we hear from you.

I hope you have a wonderful month and look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming community events.

Warm regards,
Bonnie
