On 10/30/2024 shortly before 6 p.m. a deputy spotted a vehicle connected to 51-year-old Jimmy Buckley, who had a Ramey warrant for attempted murder. The deputy followed the vehicle in the Elverta area as additional deputies responded. Buckley ultimately stopped at a home on Browning Street in Elverta. He got out of the vehicle with his hands up, but as deputies approached and warned he was under arrest, he attempted to run. He didn’t get far and he was arrested.
Buckley was wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred on the morning on 10/16/2024 along Pleasant Grove Road near Riego Road. The victim did survive his injuries.
Operation Boo
On Halloween night, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with agencies across the county and in partnership with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for “Operation Boo.” The team conducted compliance checks on registered sex offenders. Compliance measures include keeping exterior lights off, adhering to a curfew, and prohibit handing out candy. Our primary goal is to keep children safe.
During the operation, one arrest was made in North Auburn for non-compliance of parole terms

OAKLAND - CHP Deployments
Since its initial rollout earlier this year Valley Division CHP offices, including Auburn CHP, participated in joining an enforcement operation in the Oakland area to help the city combat rampant crime. The operation has resulted in the arrest of nearly 1,200 suspects, the recovery of 2,246 stolen vehicles, and the seizure of 124 illegal firearms. Newsom’s office announced on Friday that the CHP presence in the city would be extended “to help maintain California’s progress in assisting local law enforcement and to ensure that this progress is not hampered following recent recall elections.”
How long Auburn CHP’s assistance being requested is unknown. Most deployments occur on the weekends.
