CALTRANS TRAFFIC UPDATE
State Route 28 Project Updates for Next Week in N. Lake Tahoe
Caltrans is advising motorists of a broadband installation project continuing along State Route 28 (SR-28) along the north shore of Lake Tahoe next week.
The broadband project is a part of a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed broadband into rural communities. The contractor for this project is Teichert Construction.
Utility work with one-way traffic control is scheduled along SR-28 at the following locations and times:
• Sunday, September 29 from 5 p.m. until Friday, October 4 at noon between the Nevada state line and Park Lane in Brockway
• Sunday, September 29 from 8 p.m. until Tuesday, October 1 at 8 p.m. between Center Street and Sahara Drive in Carnelian Bay. No work is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
• Sunday, September 29 from 7 p.m. until Monday, September 30 at 7a.m. at Grove Street in Tahoe City
• Sunday, September 29 from 7 p.m. until Friday, October 4 at 7 a.m. at Mackinaw Road in Tahoe City. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Monday, September 30 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Laurel Drive and Granite Road
• Monday, September 30 from 7 p.m. until Friday, October 4 at 7 a.m. between Center Street and Ridgewood Road. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Monday, September 30 from 8 p.m. until Friday, October 4 at 7 a.m. at Center Street in Carnelian Bay. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 1 from 8 p.m. until Wednesday, October 2 at 8 p.m. between Onyx Street and Sahara Drive in Carnelian Bay
• Tuesday, October 1 from 7 p.m. until Friday, October 4 at 7 a.m. at Grove Street in Tahoe City. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 1 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Estates Drive and Anderson Road in Tahoe Vista
• Wednesday, October 2 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Anderson Road and Agatam Avenue West in Tahoe Vista
• Wednesday, October 2 from 8 p.m. until Thursday, October 3 at 8 p.m. between Agate Road and Onyx Street in Carnelian Bay
• Thursday, October 3 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Anderson Road and Agatam Avenue East in Tahoe Vista
• Thursday, October 3 from 8 p.m. until Friday, October 4 at noon between Sahara Drive and Granite Road in Carnelian Bay
• Friday, October 4 from 4 a.m. until noon between Agatam Avenue West and Beach Street in Tahoe VIsta
Motorists could encounter total delays of up to one hour. Please allow extra time to reach your destination.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends and holidays. Schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
