September is National Preparedness Month
 September is National Preparedness Month, a time for individuals, families and communities to take steps to prepare for emergencies. The Placer County Office of Emergency Services is urging residents to review their emergency plans and take proactive measures to ensure their safety and well-being in the event of a disaster.

Deadline extended to apply for the Placer County Charter Review Committee
Placer County residents are invited to take part in a once-every-five-years review of the Placer County Charter - a governing document that guides the organizational structure, duties and responsibilities of the county’s elected and appointed officials.
The deadline to apply for the committee has been extended to Sept. 30.
The Charter Review Committee will be charged with reviewing the charter and making recommendations for changes or additions, if any, they may determine are appropriate. Click to learn more.

The Board of Supervisors meets twice monthly at the Placer County Administration Center, "The Domes," unless otherwise noted. Residents are always welcome to attend meetings in person or watch the meetings online at Placer.CA.Gov/BOSLive.

Ongoing Projects:

Placer One Phase-1B Rough Grading project held its preconstruction meeting on June 5th. Located in Southwest of Sunset Blvd and Foothill Blvd, Placer One Phase 1B mass grading includes a total of eight MDR and LDR parcels, three multi-family residential parcels for a total of 550 lots.

Creekview Ranch Phase-1 Rough Grading project started actual site construction (grading) early August; residence shall expect heavy machinery. Located in Northeast corner of PFE Road and Antelope Road, Creekview Ranch Phase-1 mass grading includes two LDR villages for a total of 249 lots.

Creekview Ranch Phase-2 Rough Grading project held its preconstruction meeting on September 5th and expected to go into construction by end of September. Located in Northwest corner of PFE Road and Antelope Road, Creekview Ranch Phase-2 mass grading includes two LDR villages for total of 173 lots.

Creekview Ranch – PFE Water Main Improvements project held its preconstruction meeting on September 9th and expected to go into construction next week. Water main extension along PFE Road, starting from intersection of the PFE Road and Cook Riolo Road.

Placer Vineyards Property 1A Phase-5 Village-5A project held its preconstruction meeting for onsite improvements on September 10th. Located in Southeast of Baseline Road and Placer Creek Drive, Village-5A project includes total of 139 lots.

Placer Vineyards Property 1A Phase-5 Village-5B project held its preconstruction meeting for onsite improvements on September 10th. Located in Southeast of Baseline Road and Placer Creek Drive, Village-5B project includes total of 77 lots.

Placer Vineyards Property 1A Phase-5 Placer Creek Drive Improvement Plans Approved early September and expect to go into construction early October 2024.
Residents can expect construction noise during allowable work hours. Dust, erosion and sediment control best management practices are required for all projects.

Western Placer Waste Management Authority Trash Bash September 14th
On Saturday, September 14th from 9 a.m. to noon at our Administrative Offices (3013 Fiddyment Road, Roseville, CA 95747) we are holding a free, family-friendly “Trash Bash” with educational and fun activities for kids of all ages. Get your hands dirty and learn how to make your own compost, pretend you’re a recycling robot and sort through trash to find valuable recyclables, decorate a battery box to safely recycle of batteries at home, create a community art project using recycled paint, take a bus tour of our facility to watch how trash turns into treasure, win a “Trash Talker” T-shirt, and more! This is an open house/drop-in event, but we are encouraging those planning to attend to RSVP their families HERE.

UPDATE FROM PCSO
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to introduce our three new Captains who were recently promoted. Captain Josh Tindall will serve as the Field Operations Commander. Captain Jon Scofield will serve as the Auburn Jail Commander. Captain Michelle Baxter will serve as the North Lake Tahoe Commander. They each bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their new roles.

Looking ahead: We are looking forward to joining “Placer Protect Senior Resource Fair” in Roseville on Thursday, September 12th. It will be at the Maidu Community Center. We’re also excited to be a part of “Fire Responder’s” Day at Bayside Church Blue Oaks in Roseville. It will take place on Sunday September 15th from 8am to 1pm.
