CALTRANS TRAFFIC UPDATE


State Route 28 Project Updates for This Week in N. Lake Tahoe

Caltrans is advising motorists of a broadband installation project continuing along State Route 28 (SR-28) along the north shore of Lake Tahoe this week.

The broadband project is a part of a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed broadband into rural communities. The contractor for this project is Teichert Construction.

Utility work is scheduled along the shoulders of both directions of SR-28 at the following locations and times:

• Tuesday, September 3 from 8 p.m. until Thursday, September 5 at 8 p.m.
   between Sierra Terrace Road and Star Harbor

• Wednesday, September 4 from 8 p.m. until Thursday, September 5 at 8
   a.m.
between Onyx Street and Agate Road

• Thursday, September 5 from 8 p.m. until Friday, September 6 at noon
   between Rocky Ridge Road and Lake Forest Road East

• Thursday, September 5 from 8 p.m. until Friday, September 6 at noon
   between Agate Road and Estates Drive

Motorists could encounter total delays of up to one hour.
Please allow extra time to reach your destination. 

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.

All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends and holidays. Schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
