Placer County has finalized the meeting schedule for the Housing Element Sites Rezone program.
• The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on April 25th • The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on May 21st

Join Placer Health & Human Services for the Inaugural Placer4Mental Health Wellness Fair, a family-friendly community event to connect with local mental health & wellness supports.
The Systems of Care partnered with the District Attorney’s Office and Human Services to sponsor and plan this event. Community partners such as AMI Housing, KidsFirst and Lighthouse have been involved as well, and we received additional financial support through sponsorships with Sutter Health and Kaiser.
Individuals attending can sign-up for Medi-Cal, navigate access to services directly with Kaiser and Partnership, connect with 211 resources, and discover 40+ local mental health-related vendors.
We will be running 30-minute rotating workshops with topics including: managing stress, anxiety and depression, empowering youth mental health, mindful meditation, restorative sleep, mental health parents & caregivers, mental health & substance use, plus a viewing of the film Screenagers.
There will be FREE food, fun activities for all ages, raffle prizes, and LIVE entertainment, including outdoor stage performances by Hip Hop Congress, Katie Rae from Season 21 of the Voice, and 2023 World Series of Comedy finalists, Drew Shafer and Dejan Tyler.

 Placer County in partnership with Recology and the Bureau of Land Management are hosting a Waste Tire Amnesty Event on May 19th from 8AM-3PM at Stewart Hall in Sheridan (6005 Camp far West Rd). Placer County residents can dispose of up to 9 tires for free! For questions about this event, please call Placer County Environmental Engineering at 530-889-6846.
In California, the grand jury is an investigatory body made up of citizens with the authority to act as a watchdog on local government, investigate citizen complaints, and assist in criminal matters at the request of the district attorney.
To serve on the grand jury, you must be a Placer County resident over the age of 18. Service on the grand jury requires a substantial investment of time, usually 40-50 hours per month. Members of the grand jury receive a small stipend for their work.

Special needs children and adults, living within a six-county area of northern California, are invited to Special Kids Day on May 18, 2024, at Depot Park, 16 Business Parkway, Sacramento, CA from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will offer interactive activities that include, arts and crafts, carnival type games, music, entertainment, motorcycle rides, guide dogs, horse demonstrations, face painting, train rides, bounce house and much more. Food and drinks will also be provided to guests registered for the event.
