Housing Needs Inventory Rezone Program Meeting
February 22 at 10:00 a.m.

The project comprises properties dispersed throughout unincorporated Placer County. The sites include locations in North Auburn, Dry Creek, Bowman, Penryn, Granite Bay, and Sheridan, as well as within the Lake Tahoe region outside of the basin.

UPDATE FROM PCSO

This past weekend, Deputy Bliss was honored by the Roseville Elks Lodge for her outstanding contribution to the Placer Community as a coroner deputy for the Sheriff’s Office.

Part of her nomination write-up stated, “In 2023, Deputy Bliss conducted 66 ‘full coroner’ investigation cases, accounting for approximately 20% of the total number of these cases in 2023 for the entire County of Placer. This does not include numerous ‘non-coroner’ death investigations she conducted. She provides respect and dignity to the departed and compassion to their families. Deputy Bliss’ devotion to her craft, dedication to the Sheriff’s Office, and commitment to the community to provide the highest level of service to all exemplifies the Core Values of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.”

The communications management position is an exciting new position for the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. This position will manage our social media platforms, handle crisis communication, and be our public spokesperson.

All Star is our new state of the art recruitment program that allows us to utilize technology to best reach potential candidates for deputy, correctional officers, dispatchers, and administrative legal clerks. At this point in time we have had hundreds of candidates reach out to us through this new system and it has only been live for a couple of weeks.

UPDATE FROM CAL FIRE

Placer County Fire Department took delivery on 2 new Type three fire engines. The engines will be in service by fire season and will help Placer County with wildland fire protection.

Placer County takes monumental step to move forward on regional forensic laboratory project; Placer DA reports they currently can wait up to one year for forensic results.
