EASTERN PLACER BULLETIN | NOV. 17

GIVING THANKS + GIVING BACK!

supervisor cindy gustafson

As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, there is so much to be grateful for... including our family, friends, community, safety, health, and the stunning place we get to call home.

Please also join me in giving thanks to those who contribute so much to our safety and well-being and support our communities, including our: veterans and current service members; first responders in fire and law enforcement; health care professionals, hospitals, clinics, and health department; educators and other public servants; and nonprofits and small businesses.

Now the Giving Season is upon us! I encourage you to shop local, especially on Small Business Saturday, and to consider donating to your favorite nonprofits on GivingTuesday and during Give Back Tahoe. We have so many incredible local businesses and nonprofits in Eastern Placer County and every dollar spent or donated makes a huge difference in the lives of so many.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

With gratitude,
Supervisor Cindy Gustafson

GIVINGTUESDAY | NOVEMBER 28

giving tuesday

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 11 years, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. We have countless amazing nonprofits in our Eastern Placer County region, many of which run on shoestring budgets with small staffs and volunteers who work long hours. Our local nonprofits rely on our generosity to be able to continue to support their mission in the new year ahead. I encourage you to think about those organizations and causes close to your heart and donate. LEARN MORE

BOARD APPROVES COUNTY PARKING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT AND UPDATES FINE AMOUNTS

parking ordinance amendment

The Placer County Board of Supervisors amended the county’s parking ordinance to strengthen existing parking enforcement and increase parking fines countywide. The changes go into effect November 30. The parking ordinance authorizes the county’s parking enforcement team to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking or standing of vehicles on or along public roadways during posted times. The amendment expands the restrictions to prohibit parking on all or a portion of public sidewalks. The amendment also adds a new restriction for vehicles parking on private property without the property owner’s consent. The county may enforce the private property parking restrictions through a written agreement and posted signage. Placer County’s team will work alongside California Highway Patrol officers to enforce parking restrictions.
